JULIE HORITA

Julie Hirota is a creative business executive who passionately nurtures ideas. She has more than 25 years of extensive breadth in private, public and non-profit sectors and drives operations to exceed outcomes. Her work in advocacy, political campaigns and charities well-position her to access, influence and funding channels for purposeful projects. 

In her early years, Julie held a successful engineering career in the tech sector with Fortune 100 companies while starting up and building several full-scale, international manufacturing capabilities. Today, in her spare time, she resurrects and builds businesses from inception to maturity through sustainable business operation while currently serving as the Chief Operations Officer in Biomedical Engineering at the University of California aligning education and research to outcomes.

Julie holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from the University of CA at Davis, is an elected official, serves on several non-profit boards, and has been honored as the region’s “Women Who Mean Business, “40 Under 40,” and “Executive of the Year.”
